Why the wind blows

It was an unusually still afternoon, with no wind. Perfect for a run, but also ripe for a question. Why does the wind blow when it does?

When it blows, it makes me stronger when running against it. It’s also an immense source of power. Overall, though, the wind blows because it does. It does not care about my intentions, it just is. I’m the one who ascribes meaning to it.
